Gospel music tours are big business in Harlem, often pricey yet usually covering transportation uptown and brunch afterwards. You can, however, easily go it on your own. The choir at the Abyssinian Baptist Church is arguably the best in the city, but others of note include Metropolitan Baptist Church , 151 W 128th St at Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard (tel 212/663-8990), Mount Moriah , 2050 5th Ave between W 126th and 127th streets (tel 212/289-9448) and Mount Nebo ,1883 7th Ave at W 114th St (tel 212/866-7880). Keep in mind that worship is taken especially seriously, so dress accordingly.
